The driver's license of the renter must be issued at least two year before the rental date. The driver must either be the holder of a driving licence issued by a European Union country or an international driving licence. The international driving licence must be accompanied by the driving licence of the car driver's country.
The minimum age for a car rental is 23 years old.
The customer takes responsibility for traffic offences and has to pay the corresponding fines and administrative expenses amounting to €30, plus VAT.
Car rentals outside of store hours are available upon request at the time of booking. The additional charge is 25€.
The charge for additional drivers is 5€ daily.
Child seats are available, with automatic confirmation when booking and are free of charge.
If the renter does not pick up the car, there will be a cancellation fee, which corresponds to €40, plus VAT, per reservation.
In case of damage to the car or a third car or a fine from a traffic violation, there is an additional charge of €30, plus VAT, for the cover of management expenses that will be paid by the driver, regardless of fault and will not be refunded.
One day rental is calculated as 24 hours and 29 minutes. In the event that the rental exceeds this period, an additional rental day will be charged.
All customers must inform Soumpasis Rent a Car about the possible extension of the rental, in order to avoid the imposition of the late return charge. If the car is returned with 7 hours delay or more than the agreed return time, then there will be a late return charge at a cost of €15, plus VAT, for each day or part thereof, additional to the cost of the extra day Rental.
All payments made using a card are processed through Alpha Bank's "Alpha e-Commerce" electronic payment platform and uses TLS 1.2 encryption with a 128-bit encryption protocol (Secure Sockets Layer – SSL). Encryption is a way of encoding the information until it reaches its designated recipient, which will be able to decode it using the appropriate key.

In case an employee or customer is diagnosed with coronavirus, a procedure of immediate disinfection of a car has been established as well as a medical examination of all employees who have participated in the rental process.
In addition, a separate Crisis Management Plan has been created in the event of a coronavirus incident at the Company's headquarters and branches.
It is noted that all information regarding possible cases of coronavirus is handled exclusively by the National Organization of Public Health (EODY) and the General Secretariat for Civil Protection.

If you are required to return your car to one of our branches other than the one you stated upon receipt of your car, you can do so at no extra charge.
What should I do if I am required to enter or am already in self-isolation following the relevant instructions of the competent authorities regarding the prevention of coronavirus transmission (COVID -19) and I can not return the rented vehicle?
In this case, please contact the receiving branch of the rental vehicle while avoiding contact with the vehicle and its keys.
If I have rented a vehicle from SOUMPASIS RENT A CAR and I test positive for coronavirus (COVID -19), what should I do?
In case you test positive for coronavirus (COVID -19) please contact us immediately by calling the receiving branch of the rented vehicle.
What should I do if I am in a blocked area and cannot return my rented car?
In this case please do not come into contact with the vehicle and its keys and contact us immediately. We will arrange for the vehicle to be picked up after the end of the blockade of the area you are in from us, or for you to return it.
Is there any limit to the number of passengers in the vehicles?
According to relevant ministerial decisions in Greece, due to the COVID-19 measures, there is a restriction on the passengers of all vehicles throughout the country.
For vehicles up to 7 seats, there is a limit of 4 passengers in total (the driver and 3 passengers)
For vehicles with 8 or 9 seats, there is a limit of 6 passengers in total (driver and 5 passengers) There is an exception for families with children, where passengers can reach the maximum number allowed (equal to the number of seats in a car). In this case, only parents and children are allowed in the car. Adult children must present identification documents to the Authorities.
Have you changed anything in the way you clean your cars?
After each rental, the vehicle is thoroughly cleaned, both externally and internally, based on the Company's procedures. For the prevention and protection from the coronavirus, the Company has issued instructions, after contacting the authorities, to all employees involved in the process of delivery and receipt of vehicles.
How are cars cleaned if a renter is confirmed
or suspected of having COVID-19?
In case there is such a suspicion or it is confirmed that a customer is positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), the Company has established new, stricter cleaning protocols that include both removal of the vehicle from traffic and disinfection through a specialized partner.
